The Darksouls: Chapter 2: Alone

Being a Mage, I was taught never to be surprised by the supernatural. Magic is a strange thing that works in even stranger ways...but this, how can I not be surprised by this? A world that is inhabited by the dead and controlled by a queen with a bunch of magical soldiers. Who the fuck wouldn't question this?!
I looked up from the water puddle and tried to think about what I was going to do. I was in an alleyway of some town. I didn't know what to expect. I felt out of place. I felt alone.
I started to walk out of the alleyway when I noticed that the sky was pitch black, not counting the moon. It was a full moon and that was about it. There was no stars or other planets, just the moon. I slowly trotted out of the alleyway and looked around. I was in the remains of a small town. It wasn't much of a town anymore, though.
 The few cottages that still stood were either on fire, or looked like they were about to cave in. There where no ponies in sight, and it was cold. I could hear distant shouts that I couldn't really make out. All I knew was that they were getting closer, and I probably didn't want to be here for much longer.
 When I started walking down the road I thought I saw somepony standing on one of the buildings out of the corner of my eye, but when I looked there was nopony there. That's when I heard shouting from behind me. I turned to look only to meet the gaze of one of Proxy's soldiers. Full black fur, red eyes, and the golden armor that looks like the kind the royal guards have. I didn't get a good look at it, due to the fact that I wasn't suppose to be here, and the soldiers were staring me down like wolves.
 I slowly began to back away. When they started to follow me, I just turned around and galloped as fast as I could. I don't know why, but something told me they had something to do with the town looking like a war zone. I began to feel arrows whizzing past my head and I just ran.
 I looked back to see if I had lost them, but sure enough they were still on my tail. When I looked back I saw a group of ponies with crossbows but they weren't soldiers. They had colored fur and leather armor instead of gold.
 They all aimed at me, then they heard the ponies behind me. One of them used magic to throw me down as they waited for the soldiers. I landed face first into the ground so I only heard what happened. I heard about 5 shoots and then a bunch of painful screams.
 I didn't want to get up. I had no idea who these ponies were, or if I was next on their kill list.
"Hey."
I mean sure they just saved me from the ponies following me but still!
"Hey!" I heard a voice from behind me.
 I looked up only to see a red unicorn mare with a short black mane. She poked my forehead with the front of her crossbow.  "Everything workin' alright in there?" She asked. "Well, I guess I can answer that for myself."
 I stood up and looked at her. Then I looked behind me to see her friends. There were only four of them. One was a female pegasus with brown fur and a mane to match. Another was a rather bruting male earth pony with a dark yellow coat and a brown mane. They were both wearing the saddles that the pegasus and the earth pony guards wore back in Canterlot. Battle Saddles.
 I looked at the fourth pony who was another unicorn. She had bright blue fur with the same color mane. The odd thing about her was that she didn't have a cutie mark. It's not that she was young, she was probably older than me! But no cutie mark.
 "Hey!" I heard as the red one waved her hoof in front of my face. "Stop getting googoo eyes and answer my question!"
 "Question?" I asked her.
 "What's your name?" She asked with a face hoof.
I sat there for a second and though to myself. Should I tell her my real name? How was I to know she wasn't somepony that I've crossed before? I thought to myself for a few more minutes. Then I smiled.
 "My name is Rapshure."
